Hello and welcome to our new events for 2021! ENTER our 10 & 20 mile trail races HERE now! Scroll down for race details.

The Nene Valley Trail Races are organised by runners for runners. The three of us, Janine, Claire and Anna are all members of our local club the Stamford Striders. Our friendly, supportive marshals are also mainly runners too, lots of them from our club – they know how to give a good cheer! Enter here. Watch the 10 mile race recce here. Get race GPXs here.

Janine, Anna, Claire (and someone’s dog!)

These two races start from Castle Farm Campsite in Fotheringhay, where you and your family can park and camp for free on Friday and Saturday nights. Camping entry starts at 4pm Friday and ends at 8am Saturday morning. Please arrive Friday eve if possible. Camping exit starts 4pm Saturday or after the last runner has arrived home.

There will be portaloos all weekend, and on race day a snack and hot drink van will be near the start.

The races are fully waymarked, marshalled with one aid station for the 10 mile and two for the 20 mile race. Please arrive a maximum of 30 mins before your race start in accordance with Covid guidelines.

<<< COVID UPDATE >>>

Due to restrictions there will now be a limited range of snacks at water stations, we hope to include bananas and flapjacks but please bring enough snacks to get you round just in case. Water and cola will be available – poured by the marshals into your cup or bottle. There will be no plastic cups on the course so please have something ready for them.

Please bring your own cup/bottle as we are trying to make this race as eco-friendly as possible, thank you.

Please also car share as much as possible to reduce the race’s environmental impact too. You are very welcome to join our Facebook group to arrange this with fellow racers near you. Thank you!

At the end you will get whopping great cheer from all the supporters and marshals, and a beautiful Nene Valley Races MEDAL designed by award-winning local artist Steven Hall, illustrator for Trail Running, Trail, Country Walking and Bird Watching magazines.

NENE VALLEY RACE ROUTES

UPDATE! Due to path closures there have been a few tiny alterations to the routes below, we are working on an up to date map, but on the day the whole course will be marshalled and waymarked so there will be no opportunity to go wrong. For recce purposes the GPX files are newly created.

Charity

£1 from every race entry will go to Transition Kings Cliffe, the small charity working to restore and maintain footpaths, protect and promote wildlife in the local area. The 20 mile race uses one of their maintained paths along the disused railway line and it is one of the highlights of this route.
